ABOUT

MIKKI | NY is a name that partly plays with my then geographical location, New York, and at the same time reflects my last name, Nylund.

I BECAME.

Initially, I studied art in Nykarleby, Finland and Umeå, Sweden, writing at Biskops-Arnös Författarskola, Uppsala, Sweden, lived in Copenhagen, Denmark to write the novel of the century, moved back to Umeå and worked for Norrlands Magasinet with complete design and layout. Studied marketing at IM-Marknadsföring, Umeå, Sweden, and then became employed by one of the larger advertising agencies, Nord & Syd, Umeå/Stockholm. From N&S we started the advertising agency Gazolin, Stockholm, a trendy advertising agency that, among other things, became the first agency with advertising in space.

All of these years above were both fun and very educational. I have many people to thank for everything I know, and know the importance of being humble and never forgetting where I come from.
